5.0 Variable Cam Timing Tech

In this Mustang article we explore what helped make the new 2011 5.0L V8 achieve 412 horsepower. To help Ford achieve this magical number they used twin independent variable cam timing, or what Ford calls Ti-VCT. The new Ti-VCT helps make the 5.0L V8 more efficient at all engine speeds with faster response than traditional hydraulic oil-actuated VCT systems. Overall great for drag racing or track racing, you won't find any lag anywhere on the new Mustang V8. Also featured on the Mustang V8 is BorgWarner’s resonance attenuation technology, the timing drive system improves overall engine efficiency. I just can't wait to do my own test drive in the new 2011 V8 Mustang, I bet it's going to be real exciting for me.

John Force Race Car Mustang

Just this past Monday John Force added his second history-making victory when he beat his daughter to win the Funny Car final at the zMax Dragway. Force got his Castrol GTX High Mileage Ford Mustang to the 1,000-foot finish line just inches ahead of Ashley Force Hood to win an event that featured racing in four adjacent lanes, a configuration unique to zMax. I congratulate Mr. Force for the win, I always loved his enthusiasm and love for the race car sport, he seems like a really great Mustang guy.

Shadrach Ford Mustang

One mustang that made a record sale at the past Barrett Jackson auction show was the Shadrach Mustang. The Mustang sold for a stomping $190,000, that's a big figure for just a modern muscle car. This really is no ordinary muscle car thougt, it's sporting twin turbos and a 900 horsepower stat on the dyno. To achieve this Pure Power Motorsports used all sorts of Mustang modifications, here's some mods I found: forged aluminum pistons, Manley H-beam connecting rods, Comp camshaft, CNC ported three-valve heads and a sophisticated secondary fuel injection system. There's other great exterior mods on the car as well, includes a custom hood showing of the twin turbo pipes and what really caught my eye were the deep dish wheels. The polished deep dish wheels looked really great on the custom Mustang. Since the Mustang sold at the Barrett Jackson auction, I wonder who's the new owner.

Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire gives a good honest review of the V6 Ford Mustang. Matt takes the V6 Mustang on a few twisty canyon roads, but first he tries is smoking the tires on the Mustang. And to our surprise the V6 Mustang does the smoking of tires very well. This has to be the most powerful V6 Mustang I have ever seen, I never seen a V6 smoke the tires like that, very amazing!

After all these years the Ford logo is still going strong! It's one of the best designed logos to this day, the curves are clean and the blue and white go together so well. If you compare this logo to the Chrysler logo and the GM logo, I still thing the Ford logo is the best out of the bunch.

Closer look 2011 Mustang Engine Bay

Lets take a closer look of the engine bay of the 2011 Ford Mustang. Everything from the fuel rail covers to the intake manifold looks smooth as hell. And the new 5.0L badge on top of the engine is neato! I wish my 2002 Trans Am engine bay looked as clean as the 2011 Mustang engine bay, three stars goes to Ford for such a clean looking engine bay!

This is one of the fabulous new colors available on the 2011 Ford Mustang. Now I'm not a big gold fan, but this new color "sunset gold metallic," sure looks beautiful on this Ford Mustang wouldn't you say so? It's uniqueness and flash really looks great, something that has been missing on the past model Mustangs. I just can't wait to see this sunset gold metallic color Mustang on the road!

2011 California Special Mustang GT

This gorgeous Ford Mustang you see before your eyes is the 2011 California Special Mustang GT. The Mustang was introduced this year at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, my hometown. The special edition Mustang stayed true to its heritage with a body kit and and graphics package just like the California Mustang from 1968. No details have been released by Ford as of yet but from a photo of the GT/CS on the NAIAS floor we see a new grille with pony badge, new lower front fascia, new lower rear fascia with diffuser similar to that of the GT500, side scoops, 18-inch wheels and the classic GT/CS graphics. I just love the billet polished grille in front, that really gives the Mustang a nice muscle car stance.
